Adam Gadahn, the 28 year old Californian man affiliated with Al-Quada, was officially accused of treason today. I don’t see a reason to doubt this accusation considering his involvement in the foiled plot to disturb the last US election, and keeping in mind that he’s become the English speaking spokesperson for the terrorist group. He is believed to have said, “Yesterday, London and Madrid. Tomorrow, Los Angeles and Melbourne, God willing. At this time, don’t count on us demonstrating restraint or compassion“ in a video broadcast on the fourth anniversary of 9/11. Since then, he’s appeaed unmasked in several other videos condemning the American administration in support of Al-Quada. (continued on pg. W6…)

In the imaginary world of journalism, you strike up a conversation with yourself in attempt to find the story that should be read or the images that should be seen. It seems world news is currently firing at all cylinders with the ongoing middle-east conflicts, the AIDS conference, some war in Iraq and most importantly, everything that has come to light in the JonBenét Ramsey case. The front page is full and the hour of television has more than enough to keep its audience intrigued for another day. Sensationalism is nothing new to the world we live in. If a story sticks out, if it brings out that something extra to keep the audience interested, it must be good. It must be important. Sometime that isn’t the case. (continued on pg. W5…)

This is a further discussion on my previous article in regards to the problems associated with sending more UN Peacekeepers into Lebanon. As a major point in the Cease-fire mandate that was signed over the weekend, it was agreed that UNIFIL will be strengthened to a maximum of 15,000 troops (an additional 13,000 troops). The World Can Be Turned Off With the Flick of a Switch (But Nobody is That Stupid)
The nuclear ambitions of Iran and North Korea have been making headlines for years now. Iranian president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad insists his nuclear ambitions are peaceful and that anyone who believes otherwise (most of the western world) are under the spell of the American Empire. Then there’s Kim Jong-il, who wants to make it perfectly clear that [...]

The Colbert Effect (Updated)
I’ve written two articles (I and II) on Wikipedia and Colbert in the last week and a half and promise to you that this will be the final chapter of my Colbert Report discussion. Pt. III of the trilogy if you will. But there have been some interesting developments since then so here I am yet again.

Why Bill Gates is my Hero
It was just a few days ago that I wrote an article about the recent emergence of the new philanthropist movement. With Bill Gates and Warren Buffett promising billions of dollars towards a mélange of disease related research, I argued that this will hopefully be a sign of things to come (I’m looking at you [...]
